GOIâNIA, Jul. 8, 1989 (AMP) — Brazil 1989 : Argentina defeated Uruguay by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Copa América group stage game on Saturday. Uruguay advance to the second round of the Copa América.

The result put the Argentine top of Group B with 7 points. Uruguay is second with 6 points. In their last game, Argentina will meet Bolivia on July 10.
