MéRIDA, Jun. 26, 2007 (AMP) — Venezuela 2007 : Peru defeated Uruguay by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Copa América group stage game on Tuesday night.

The result put the Peruvians top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Peru will meet Venezuela on June 30, while Uruguay will face Bolivia.
