RIYADH, Nov. 16, 2014 (AMP) — Saudi Arabia 2014 : Saudi Arabia defeated Bahrain by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Gulf Cup group stage game on Sunday night at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
Saudi Arabia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Al-Shamrani in the 26th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Saudis further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Al-Haza'a '54/own and Husain '70/own).
The result put the Saudi top of Group A with 4 points. Bahrain is bottom with one point. In their last game, Saudi Arabia will meet third-placed Yemen at the King Fahd International Stadium on November 19, while Bahrain will face Qatar.
