La Liga (Week 11) : Atletico beats Gijon 1-0
SPAIN, Nov. 8, 2015 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 11: After their 1-1 draw against Deportivo La Coruna on October 30, Los Colchoneros returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Sporting Gijon this Sunday.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by French midfielder Antoine Griezmann in stoppage time.
Atletico Madrid climbed to third place with 23 points from 11 games, only one point behind Real Madrid, which has a game in hand.
