League Two (Week 9) : Southend beats York 3-2
ENGLAND, Sep. 20, 2014 (AMP) — League Two / Match day 9: Three wins in a row for Southend United. After their success against Portsmouth and Cheltenham Town, the Shrimpers continued their sensational form in the League Two with a 3-2 victory over York City this Saturday.
Weston opened the score in the 9th minute on penalty, before seeing York City catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Penn. 1-1 at half time. The Shrimpers eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Hurst ('52) and Payne ('78).
Southend United FC climbed to fourth place with 17 points from 9 games, only one point behind Wycombe Wanderers FC.
