Ligue 1 (Week 9) : Saint-Etienne beats Metz 3-1
FRANCE, Oct. 14, 2017 (AMP) — Ligue 1 / Match day 9: After losing 2-1 to Troyes on October 1, Saint-Etienne bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Metz this Saturday.
Metz had started off well by taking the lead in the 21st minute with a goal by Senegalese defender Fallou Diagné. Trailing 1-0 at half time, Saint-Etienne players nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Pajot '74, Cafu Miguel '85 own and Maiga Habib '90).
Saint-Etienne climbed to third place with 17 points from 9 games, 2 points behind AS Monaco.
