MLS : Portland beats Seattle 3-1

UNITED STATES, Jul. 17, 2016 (AMP) — MLS: After three straigth draws, the Timbers returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Seattle Sounders FC this Sunday.

Valeri Diego scored dual goals

Portland Timbers dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Valeri Diego in the 44th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Timbers further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Valeri Diego '50 and Adi Fanendo '64).

Portland Timbers climbed to 7th place with 29 points from 21 games, only one point behind Real Salt Lake, which has a game in hand.
