MLS : Vancouver beats Portland 4-1

CANADA, Oct. 23, 2016 (AMP) — MLS: After their 0-0 draw against San Jose Earthquakes on October 16, the Caps bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Portland Timbers this Sunday.

Barnes Giles scored dual goals

Vancouver Whitecaps dominated the first half thanks to goals from Barnes Giles ('13, '32). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Caps further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Morales Pedro '54 and Mezquida Nicolas '55).

Portland Timbers remains in 12nd place with 44 points from 34 games, one point behind Montreal Impact.
