UNITED STATES, Aug. 7, 2016 (AMP) — MLS: After losing 1-2 to LA Galaxy on July 31 and 1-0 to Sporting Kansas City on July 31, the Timbers returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City this Sunday.

Sporting Kansas City made Portland Timbers doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Valeri Diego ('65), Jewsbury Jack ('87) and Adi Fanendo ('90).

Sporting Kansas City remains in 7th place with 34 points from 25 games, 2 points behind Toronto FC, which has two games in hand.
