Premier League (Week 27) : Chelsea defeats Southampton 2-1

ENGLAND, Feb. 27, 2016 (AMP) — Premier League / Match day 27: Two wins in a row for Chelsea. After their 5-1 win against Newcastle on February 13, the Blues continued their sensational form in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Southampton this Saturday.

Southampton had started off well by taking the lead in the 42nd minute with a goal by Irish forward Shane Long. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Blues nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Fàbregas '75 and Ivanović '89).

Southampton remains in 6th place with 40 points from 27 games, one point behind Manchester United FC, which has a game in hand.
