PORTUGAL, Aug. 22, 2014 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 2: Two wins in a row for Vitoria Guimaraes. After their 1-3 win against Gil Vicente on August 16, the Vimaranenses continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 3-0 victory over Penafiel this Friday.
Bernard Mensah scored dual goals
Vitoria Guimaraes dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah in the 32nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Vimaranenses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Mensah '68 and Tomane '89).
Vitoria SC climbed to first place with 6 points from 2 games, a 3-point lead over runner-up SG Braga, which has a game in hand.
