PORTUGAL, Oct. 3, 2014 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 7: After losing 4-0 to Maritimo on September 28, the Vimaranenses returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Boavista this Friday.
Alvez scored dual goals
Vitoria Guimaraes dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Uruguayan forward Alvez in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Vimaranenses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (André '69/penalty and Alvez '85).
Vitoria SC climbed to second place with 14 points from 7 games, 2 points behind SL Benfica, which has a game in hand.
