MONTEVIDEO, Jul. 14, 1930 (AMP) — Uruguay 1930 : Yugoslavia defeated Brazil by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday at the Estadio Gran Parque Central in Montevideo.
Yugoslavia dominated the first half thanks to goals from Tirnanić ('21) and Bek ('30). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Yugoslavs further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the Yugoslav top of Group 2 with 2 points. In their last game, Yugoslavia will meet Bolivia at the Estadio Gran Parque Central on July 17, while Brazil will face Bolivia.
