BELO HORIZONTE, Jul. 2, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Uruguay defeated Bolivia by a big score of 8-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday night at the Estádio Independência in Belo Horizonte.
Oscar Míguez scored tripple goals
Uruguay dominated the first half thanks to goals from Míguez ('14, '40), Vidal ('18) and Juan Alberto Schiaffino ('23). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Uruguayans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring four times (Míguez '51, Juan Alberto Schiaffino '54, Pérez '83 and Ghiggia '87).
