BUENOS AIRES, Jun. 11, 1978 (AMP) — Argentina 78 : Spain defeated Sweden by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the José Amalfitani Stadium in Buenos Aires.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Spanish midfielder Juan Manuel Asensi in the 75th minute.
