GERMANY, Dec. 20, 2014 (AMP) — 2. Bundesliga / Match day 19: After losing 0-1 to Darmstadt 98 on December 17 and 2-1 to FC Ingolstadt on December 17, FC St. Pauli returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over VfR Aalen this Saturday.
FC St. Pauli dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Dutch forward John Verhoek in the 35th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, FC St. Pauli players further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Barth '49/own and Thy '81).
VfR Aalen remains in 15th place with 17 points from 19 games, 3 points behind SV Sandhausen, which has a game in hand.
