GERMANY, Feb. 12, 2016 (AMP) — Bundesliga / Match day 21: After two straigth victories against Darmstadt 98 and Wolfsburg, the Royal Blues lost 2-1 against Mainz.
Mainz dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French defender Gaëtan Bussmann in the 33rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the O-Fives further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Baumgartlinger in the 79th minute.
FC Schalke 04 remains in fourth place with 33 points from 21 games, 2 points behind Hertha Berlin, which has a game in hand.
