AFCON 2017 : Burkina Faso hold Cameroon to 1-1

COTONOU, Jan. 14, 2017 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 : Burkina Faso tied 1-1 with Cameroon (halftime: 0-1), in a AFCON group stage game on Saturday night at the Stade de l'Amitié in Cotonou.

The Cameroonians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Cameroonian forward Benjamin Moukandjo in the 35th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Burkina Faso with a saving goal from Dayo in the 75th minute.

The result left all four teams in Group A (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Gabon and Guinea-Bissau), tied with one point. In their next game, Cameroon will meet group leaders Guinea-Bissau at the Stade de l'Amitié on January 18, while Burkina Faso will face Gabon.
