AFCON 2017 : Cameroon beats Guinea-Bissau 2-1
COTONOU, Jan. 18, 2017 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 : Cameroon defeated Guinea-Bissau by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a AFCON group stage game on Wednesday night at the Stade de l'Amitié in Cotonou.
Guinea-Bissau had started off well by taking the lead in the 13th minute with a goal by Portuguese forward Piqueti. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Cameroonians nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Siani '61 and Ngadeu-Ngadjui '78).
The result put the Cameroonians top of Group A with 4 points. Guinea-Bissau is bottom with one point. In their last game, Cameroon will meet Gabon at the Stade de l'Amitié on January 22, while Guinea-Bissau will face Burkina Faso.
