KIGALI, Jan. 20, 2016 (AMP) — Rwanda 2016 : Rwanda defeated Gabon by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a CHAN group stage game on Wednesday afternoon at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
Sugira scored dual goals
Rwanda dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Sugira in the 42nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Rwandans further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Sugira in the 47th minute.
The result put the Rwandans top of Group A with 6 points. Gabon is third with one point. In their last game, Rwanda will meet second-placed Morocco at the Amahoro Stadium on January 24, while Gabon will face Ivory Coast.
