CHAN 2016 : Mali draw 2-2 with Uganda
GISENYI, Jan. 19, 2016 (AMP) — Rwanda 2016 : Mali tied 2-2 with Uganda (halftime: 1-2), in a CHAN group stage game on Tuesday night at the Umuganda Stadium in Gisenyi.
The Ugandans started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Ssekisambu ('12) and Miya ('41 on penalty) while the Malians only scored once Koita ('22). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Mali with a saving goal from Sinayoko in the 60th minute.
The result left both teams tied in the second place of Group D with one point. In their next game, Uganda will meet group leaders Zambia at the Umuganda Stadium on January 23, while Mali will face Zimbabwe.
