Copa América 2011 : Brazil and Paraguay play out 2-2 draw
CORDOBA, Jul. 9, 2011 (AMP) — Argentina 2011 : Brazil tied 2-2 with Paraguay (halftime: 1-0), in a Copa América group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Cordoba.
The Brazilians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Jádson in the 38th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Fred goal ('89) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Paraguay with goals by Roque Santa Cruz ('54) and Nelson Valdez ('66).
The result left both teams on top of Group B with 2 points. In their last game, Paraguay will meet third-placed Venezuela at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes on July 13, while Brazil will face Ecuador.
