Brazil beats Ecuador to reach Copa América quarterfinals
CORDOBA, Jul. 13, 2011 (AMP) — Argentina 2011 : Brazil defeated Ecuador by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 1-1), in a Copa América group stage game on Wednesday night at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Cordoba.
Pato and Neymar scored dual goals
Pato opened the score in the 28th minute, before seeing Ecuador catch up in the 36th minute thanks to Felipe Caicedo. 1-1 at half time. The Brazilians eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Neymar ('48, '71) and Pato ('61).
