East Asian Cup 2015 : North Korea beats Japan 2-1
WUHAN, Aug. 2, 2015 (AMP) — China 2015 : North Korea defeated Japan by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a East Asian Cup final round game (Final Tournament) on Sunday night at the Wuhan Sports Center Stadium.
Japan had started off well by taking the lead in the 3rd minute with a goal by Muto. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Koreans nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Ri Hyok-chol '78 and Pak Hyon-il '88).
The result put the Koreans top of the group with 3 points. In their next game, North Korea will meet China at the Wuhan Sports Center Stadium on August 5, while Japan will face South Korea.
