East Asian Cup 2017 Qualifiers : Macau defeats Northern Mariana Islands 3-1
DEDEDO, Jul. 2, 2016 (AMP) — Japan 2017 (Qualifiers) : Macau defeated Northern Mariana Islands by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2017 EAFF East Asian Cup (First Round) on Saturday afternoon at the Guam Football Association National Training Center in Dededo.
Lam Ka Seng scored dual goals
Macau dominated the first half thanks to goals from Lam Ka Seng ('9) and Duarte ('40). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Macaneses further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Lam Ka Seng in stoppage time.
The result put the Macanese top of the group with 4 points. Northern Mariana Islands is bottom with no points. In their last game, Macau will meet second-placed Taiwan at the Guam Football Association National Training Center on July 4, while Northern Mariana Islands will face Mongolia.
