TOULOUSE, Jun. 17, 2016 (AMP) — France 2016 : Italy defeated Sweden by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Euro group stage game on Friday afternoon at the Toulouse Stadium.
Sweden made the Italians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Éder with just 2 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Italians top of Group E with 6 points. Sweden is third with one point. In their last game, Italy will meet second-placed Ireland at the Toulouse Stadium on June 22, while Sweden will face Belgium.
