HOUSTON, Jul. 11, 2015 (AMP) — USA 2015 : Jamaica defeated Canada by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Gold Cup group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
45 minutes of play and neither the Jamaicans nor the Canadians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Jamaican midfielder Rodolph Austin in stoppage time.
The result put the Jamaicans top of Group B with 4 points. Canada is bottom with one point. In their last game, Jamaica will meet third-placed El Salvador at the BBVA Compass Stadium on July 14, while Canada will face Costa Rica.
