CHICAGO, Jul. 9, 2015 (AMP) — USA 2015 : Mexico defeated Cuba by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a Gold Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Soldier Field in Chicago.
Oribe Peralta scored tripple goals
Mexico dominated the first half thanks to goals from Peralta ('16, '36), Vela ('22) and Guardado ('43). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Mexicans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Peralta '61 and Giovani dos Santos '75).
The result put the Mexicans top of Group C with 3 points. In their next game, Mexico will meet third-placed Guatemala at the Soldier Field on July 12, while Cuba will face Trinidad and Tobago.
