CHICAGO, Jul. 9, 2015 (AMP) — USA 2015 : Trinidad and Tobago defeated Guatemala by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a Gold Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Soldier Field in Chicago.
Trinidad and Tobago dominated the first half thanks to goals from Bateau ('10), Cato ('13) and J. Jones ('25). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Trinidadians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the Trinidadians top of Group C with 3 points. In their next game, Trinidad and Tobago will meet Cuba at the Soldier Field on July 12, while Guatemala will face Mexico.
