Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago qualify for the quarter-finals
CHARLOTTE, Jul. 15, 2015 (AMP) — USA 2015 : Mexico tied 4-4 with Trinidad and Tobago (halftime: 1-0), in a Gold Cup group stage game on Wednesday night at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
The Mexicans started off well by taking the lead thanks to Mexican defender Paul Aguilar in the 32nd minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite goals by Vela ('51), Guardado ('88) and Jones ('90 own) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Trinidad and Tobago with goals by Cummings ('55, '67), Kenwyne Jones ('58) and Marshall ('90).
