La Liga (Week 14) : Atletico defeats Elche 2-0
SPAIN, Dec. 6, 2014 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 14: Three wins in a row for Atletico Madrid. After their success against Malaga and Deportivo La Coruna, Los Colchoneros continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 2-0 victory over Elche this Saturday.
Atletico Madrid dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Gimenez in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Colchoneros further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Mandžukić in the 53rd minute.
Atletico Madrid climbed to second place with 32 points from 14 games, only one point behind Real Madrid, which has a game in hand.
