Ligue 1 (Week 2) : Saint-Etienne beats Reims 3-1
FRANCE, Aug. 17, 2014 (AMP) — Ligue 1 / Match day 2: Two wins in a row for Saint-Etienne. After their 0-2 win against Guingamp on August 9, Saint-Etienne continued their sensational form in the Ligue 1 with a 3-1 victory over Reims this Sunday.
Reims had started off well by taking the lead in the 27th minute with an own goal by defender Loïc Perrin. Trailing 1-0 at half time, Saint-Etienne players nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Gradel '60, Monnet-Paquet '70 and Erdinç '81).
Saint-Etienne climbed to first place with 6 points from 2 games, a 2-point lead over runner-up Paris Saint-Germain.
