Ligue 1 (Week 22) : Marseille beats Montpellier 5-1
FRANCE, Jan. 27, 2017 (AMP) — Ligue 1 / Match day 22: After losing 1-4 to Monaco on January 22 and 3-1 to Lyon on January 22, Marseille returned to winning ways with a 5-1 victory over Montpellier this Friday.
Gomis Bafetimbi scored tripple goals
Marseille dominated the first half thanks to goals from Gomis Bafetimbi ('4, '19) and Rolando Jorge ('38). Leading 3-0 at the break, Marseille players further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Gomis Bafetimbi '77 and Thauvin '88/penalty).
Olympique de Marseille climbed to fifth place with 33 points from 22 games, 4 points behind Olympique Lyonnais, which has two games in hand.
