MLS : New York City defeats Portland 2-1
UNITED STATES, May. 15, 2016 (AMP) — MLS: Three wins in a row for New York City. After their success against Vancouver Whitecaps and DC United, NYCFC continued their sensational form in the MLS with a 2-1 victory over Portland Timbers this Sunday.
New York City dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Villa David in the 12th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, NYCFC further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Mcnamara Thomas in the 65th minute.
New York City FC climbed to 9th place with 16 points from 11 games, tie on points with Montreal Impact.
