MLS : Houston defeats Portland 3-1

UNITED STATES, Sep. 24, 2016 (AMP) — MLS: Two wins in a row for Houston Dynamo. After their 0-1 win against Real Salt Lake on September 17, the Dynamo continued their sensational form in the MLS with a 3-1 victory over Portland Timbers this Saturday.

Manotas Mauro scored tripple goals

Houston Dynamo dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Manotas Mauro in the 34th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Dynamo further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Manotas Mauro '73, '85).

Portland Timbers are down in 10th place with 41 points from 31 games, one point behind Philadelphia Union.
