HONIARA, Jun. 2, 2012 (AMP) — Solomon 2012 : New Zealand defeated the Fiji by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a OFC Nations Cup group stage game on Saturday at the Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.
All the action happened in the first half, with New Zealand defender Tommy Smith goal in the 11th minute.
The result put the New Zealander top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, New Zealand will meet Papua New Guinea at the Lawson Tama Stadium on June 4, while the Fiji will face the Solomon Islands.
