RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 4, 2016 (AMP) — Rio 2016 : Portugal defeated Argentina by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Olympics group stage game on Thursday night at the João Havelange Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Argentina made the Portugueses doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Paciência ('66) and [[Pité ('84).
The result put the Portuguese top of Group D with 3 points. In their next game, Portugal will meet second-placed Honduras at the João Havelange Olympic Stadium on August 7, while Argentina will face Algeria.
