RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 7, 2016 (AMP) — Rio 2016 : Portugal defeated Honduras by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a Olympics group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the João Havelange Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Tobias Figueiredo ('21) and Gonçalo Paciência ('36).
The result put the Portuguese top of Group D with 6 points. Honduras is second with 3 points. In their last game, Portugal will meet third-placed Algeria at the João Havelange Olympic Stadium on August 10, while Honduras will face Argentina.
