ENGLAND, Dec. 26, 2014 (AMP) — Premier League / Match day 18: After their 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on December 20, the Red Devils bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle this Friday.
Wayne Rooney scored dual goals
Manchester United dominated the first half thanks to goals from Rooney ('23, '36). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Red Devils further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Van Persie in the 53rd minute.
Manchester United FC remains in third place with 35 points from 18 games, 7 points behind Manchester City FC.
