Premier League (Week 30) : Southampton defeats Burnley 2-0
ENGLAND, Mar. 21, 2015 (AMP) — Premier League / Match day 30: After their 1-1 draw against Chelsea on March 15, the Saints returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Burnley this Saturday.
Southampton dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Irish forward Shane Long in the 37th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Saints further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Shackell into his own net in the 58th minute.
Southampton remains in 6th place with 53 points from 30 games, one point behind Liverpool, which has a game in hand.
