ENGLAND, Mar. 20, 2016 (AMP) — Premier League / Match day 31: The match between Newcastle and Sunderland ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
Sunderland players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Sunderland forward Jermain Defoe in the 44th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Newcastle with a saving goal from Mitrovic Aleksandar in the 83rd minute.
Sunderland are down in 18th place with 26 points from 30 games, 2 points behind Norwich City.
