Primeira Liga (Week 3) : Maritimo defeats Gil Vicente 2-1
PORTUGAL, Aug. 31, 2014 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 3: Two wins in a row for Maritimo. After their 2-1 win against Académica Coimbra on August 23, the Verde-Rubros continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 2-1 victory over Gil Vicente this Sunday.
Gil Vicente had started off well by taking the lead in the 25th minute with a goal by forward Valente. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Verde-Rubros nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Bauer '58 and Maazou '71).
CS Maritimo climbed to 7th place with 6 points from 3 games, tie on points with CF Os Belenenses.
