Segunda division (Week 16) : Ponferradina beats Alavés 2-1
SPAIN, Dec. 6, 2014 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 16: After losing 4-1 to Zaragoza on November 30, La Ponfe returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Alavés this Saturday.
Yuri scored dual goals
Alavés had started off well by taking the lead in the 22nd minute with a goal by Toti. Trailing 1-0 at half time, La Ponfe nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Yuri '75, '78 on penalty).
SD Ponferradina climbed to fifth place with 26 points from 16 games, tie on points with Real Valladolid, which has a game in hand.
