ITALY, Dec. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Serie A / Match day 16: Three wins in a row for Empoli. After their success against Lazio and Hellas Verona, the Azzurri continued their sensational form in the Serie A with a 3-0 victory over Carpi this Sunday.
Massimo Maccarone scored dual goals
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Maccarone ('46, '61) and Saponara ('51).
Empoli FC climbed to 9th place with 24 points from 16 games, tie on points with Atalanta BC.
