World Cup 1930 : Romania beats Peru 3-1
MONTEVIDEO, Jul. 14, 1930 (AMP) — Uruguay 1930 : Romania defeated Peru by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday afternoon at the Estadio Pocitos in Montevideo.
Romania dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Adalbert Deşu in the 1st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Romanians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Stanciu '79 and Kovács '89).
The result put the Romanians top of Group 3 with 2 points. In their last game, Romania will meet Uruguay at the Estadio Pocitos on July 21, while Peru will face Uruguay.
