SAN JOSé, Feb. 12, 1965 (AMP) — England 66 (American Qualifiers) : Costa Rica defeated Suriname by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 1966 FIFA World Cup on Friday.

The result put the Costa Ricans second in Group 2 with 2 points. Suriname is bottom with no points. In their next game, Costa Rica will meet group leaders Trinidad and Tobago on February 21, while Suriname will face Costa Rica.
