PARAMARIBO, Feb. 28, 1965 (AMP) — England 66 (American Qualifiers) : Costa Rica defeated Suriname by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 1966 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

The result put the Costa Ricans top of Group 2 with 6 points. Suriname is bottom with no points. In their last game, Costa Rica will meet second-placed Trinidad and Tobago on March 7, while Suriname will face Trinidad and Tobago.
