TOLUCA, Jun. 3, 1970 (AMP) — Mexico 70 : Italy defeated Sweden by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday afternoon at the Estadio Luis Dosal in Toluca.
All the action happened in the first half, with Italian striker Angelo Domenghini goal in the 10th minute.
The result put the Italians second in Group 2 with 2 points. In their next game, Italy will meet group leaders Uruguay at the Estadio Luis Dosal on June 6, while Sweden will face Israel.
