GELSENKIRCHEN, Jun. 18, 1974 (AMP) — Germany 74 : Yugoslavia defeated Zaire by a big score of 9-0 (halftime: 6-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at the Parkstadion in Gelsenkirchen.
Dušan Bajević scored tripple goals
Yugoslavia dominated the first half thanks to goals from Bajević ('8, '30), Džajić ('14), Šurjak ('18), Katalinski ('22) and Bogićević ('35). Leading 6-0 at the break, the Yugoslavs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Oblak '61, Petković '65 and Bajević '81).
The result put the Yugoslav top of Group B with 3 points. Zaire is bottom with no points. In their last game, Yugoslavia will meet second-placed Scotland at the Parkstadion on June 22, while Zaire will face Brazil.
