GELSENKIRCHEN, Jun. 22, 1974 (AMP) — Germany 74 : Brazil defeated Zaire by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the Parkstadion in Gelsenkirchen.
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Jairzinho in the 12th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Rivellino '66 and Valdomiro '79).
